The line-up for this year’s Field Day is looking very tasty indeed.
Austrian guitar/laptop wizard Fennesz will bring his face-melting live show tothe EYOE main stage, joining the likes of Mogwai, Errors, FinalFantasy, Skream and The Horrors.
Adventures In The Beetroot Field’s stage will play host to hyped New York pop poseurs Apes & Androids, as well as Micachu & The Shapes, Mystery Jets, Plugs, S.C.U.M., The Big Pink and the ever-reliable Four Tet, fresh from his phenomenal 12" collaboration with Burial.
Kora virtuoso Toumani Diabate is a giant of West African music, a regular collaborator with Ali Farka Toure and Salif Keita and a participant in Damon Albarn’s original Mali Music project; he also played on Bjork’s Volta LP, subsequently appearing with her on-stage at Glastonbury. He’s playing the Village Mentality stage, with James Yorkston, Malcolm Middleton, Mumford & Sons, Woodpigeon and others.
That oft-imitated but rarely matched master of electro bombast, Erol Alkan, will return to play his third Field Day in a row, headlining the Bugged Out! tent with Aeroplane, whose remix of Friendly Fires’ ‘Paris’ still sends shivers up our spine, Matthew Dear’s Audion, Fake Blood and Little Boots (live).
Field Day takes place in Hackney’s Victoria Park on Saturday 1st August; for more information and tickets, click here.
