Some of these people are too good, honestly. James Blake is the latest recruit to Untold’s Hemlock label; he also sings live with Mount Kimbie on occasion. I guess this is him providing vocals on this track, and it sounds great – full of shuffling chords and moments of silence; the synths reversed, reverbed and flattened to the point where you can’t tell what’s what, set out around drums that shudder like thunderclaps. Also watch for the B-Side, ‘Sparing the Horses’, which is a bit like ‘Love Lockdown’ reinterpreted by Computer Jay if he had a vintage horn collection. Maybe he does – who knows?
