Vitalic returns with new single, pencils in album date

Electro slaphead Vitalic is back, with a new single and an album scheduled for December.

Pascal Arbez by birth, the French-Italian (sort of) producer has been releasing records since the mid-nineties, but it was 2001′s Poney EP on International Deejay Gigolo that found him breaking through to an overground audience – for better or worse, the record became a touchstone for electroclash and later Justice style electro. In 2005 he released his first album, the brilliantly titled OK Cowboy which included singles ‘My Friend Dario’ and ‘No Fun’.

Anyway, he’s now back, with a new single titled ‘Your Disco Song’. No word on physical release date, but you can stream the video below, which is directed by Christine Massy and Brice Van Der Haegen, and features a woman with a disco ball for a head. Who actually looks a bit like Vitalic.

‘Your Disco Song’ will presumably make up part of Vitalic’s next album, which is scheduled for a September 28 release via Citizen/Different. No title yet, but hopefully it’s as good as OK Cowboy, innit.
