Ice cool dub-techno from Scottish favourite The Village Orchestra

Next month Uncharted Audio will be releasing a four-track 12” of remixes of tracks from London musician LJ Kruzer’s Manhood and Electronics album from last year.

One of these remixes is a master class in ice cool electronics from Ruaridh Law, a.k.a. The Village Orchestra, a Scottish producer equally adept at both techno and ambient. In fact, his FACT mix last year was one of our all-time most popular, being featured in The New Yorker and all sorts. You can still download it here.

You can download TVO’s ‘Dead Weight Dub’ of LJ Kruzer’s ‘Tam’ here; it’s an alternate version to the mix that appears on next month’s EP, and trust us when we say it’s pretty special – the sort of glacial dub-techno that you can see your own breath in, and should appeal to fans of Echospace, Yagya and the rest of them.

(Available for seven days)

Also, we never flagged this up at the time, but there’s a sweet as you like recent TVO mix that you can download from his blog. You should do so, but not before you’ve downloaded the FACT mix.
