Man behind drone legends Birchville Cat Motel remixes So So Modern. Download inside.

Today’s Daily Download takes the form of a new piece of work from Campbell Kneale, the man behind modern drone touchstones Birchville Cat Motel.

Birchville Cat Motel made their name with a series of long out of print experimental releases and collaborations with like-minded musicians like Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo.

Kneale – the owner of the Motel – also operates the Celebrate Psi Phenomenon and Battlecruiser labels, where he’s released records by Matthew ‘Skullflower’ Bower and more, and can now be found recording under the alias Our Love Will Destroy the World. Did we mention he once did a Prince tribute album?

Here Our Love Will Destroy the World remixes fellow New Zealanders So So Modern, and the result is acid-flecked, paranoid dark ambient at it’s best. It’s also pretty bite size at only three and a half minutes, so if you don’t tuck in then you’re just being a wimp.

Download: So So Modern – Life in the Undergrowth (Our Love Will Destroy… remix)
(Available for seven days)

So So Modern’s debut album, Crude Futures is out now on Transgressive.
