The Chap are set to return on May 24 with a new album, Well Done Europe.

The self-styled Dadaist pop five-piece, who divide their time between London and Berlin, have made three previous albums: The Horse, Ham, and most recently Mega Breakfast, which to this day divides opinion in the FACT office even more than Didier Drogba.

A spirited cocktail of off-kilter melodies, jerking dancefloor-friendly (well, depends on the dancefloor) rhythm and wry lyrics, Well Done Europe finds the band in top form, successfully channelling the raucous energy that has made them a live act of estimable reputation.

We would attempt to describe the record in more detail, but there’s no need: The Chap have provided us with a 3:30 mini-mix (if that’s the right word) of all the album’s tracks.

“We time-compressed the entire album into 3 minutes and 30 seconds,” explains Keith Duncan drummer/vocalist. “It’s the future of music consumption. All the emotional gain, without the investment of time.”
