The good people of Soul Jazz Records have organized a night at Cafe Oto, Dalston, to celebrate the life and work of Steve Reid.

Reid, one of the great modern percussionists, worked with Miles Davis, Sun Ra, Fela Kuti, Ornette Coleman, James Brown, Four Tet and more in his time, and passed away last month.

Gilles Peterson, Finn Peters, Earl Zinger, The Soul Jazz Soundsystem DJs and guests will be performing. The night takes place on May 16, 7-12pm – entry takes the form of a £5 donation towards the Steve Reid Foundation Trust.
