Mount Kimbie have announced details of their debut album.

Titled Crooks and Lovers, it will be released this July on Scuba’s Hotflush label, and marks a full-length follow-up to the pair’s sublime ‘Sketch on Glass’ and ‘Maybes’ EPs (the latter’s title track made number three on our Top 100 Tracks of 2009 countdown).

No tracklist as yet, but the press release promises a record that touches on “the hard-earned spaces of Burial and The Bug”, “the berserk melodrama of Xiu Xiu and Grouper’s sad-eyed glow”, and “D’Angelo’s pervert soul cleansed in the intimacy of Phil Elvrum’s Microphones, Angelo Badalamenti’s swollen ‘Twin Peaks’ atmospheres find a cradle in Madlib’s lax lope.” Bet Madlib never knew his ears were so en vogue.
