Fancy some fresh gear from Seiji? Of course you do.
For those who donât know, Seiji is one of the treasures of UK dance music. Since â96 heâs been pushing a bashy sound with swung grooves and broken percussion, proving a huge influence on broken beat, UK funky and â consciously or not â contemporary producers like 2562, Altered Natives and Shortstuff. And heâs still doing his thing.
Heâs doing it so well, in fact, that weâve got him playing our huge FACT party at Cable on June 4 (presented by We Fear Silence). Also on the bill that night is the UK live debut from Scuba, a 90 minute set by Digital Mystikzâ Mala, MMM/Berghainâs Fiedel, Altered Natives, Spatial, Deep Teknologi, Subeena, and a Night Slugs takeover in Room 2 with Chicagoâs DJ Rashad, Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990, Lil Silva, Jam City and Girl Unit.
Thatâs quite big really, isnât it? You can get advance tickets here, or risk paying more on the door. As for todayâs Daily Download, weâve got Seijiâs re-rub of âChekere Sonâ, from the new Havana Cultura remix compilation on Gilles Petersonâs Brownswood label, also featuring MJ Cole, 4hero and more.
