The wait for the 22nd Dour festival is almost over.

The festival takes place over July 15-18 in the French-speaking village of Dour, in the Walloon region of Belgium. It boasts one of the most impressive and expansive line-up we’ve seen all year, with fans of rock, dance music and more experimental fare all amply taken care of.

Chris Cunningham – director of classic promos for the likes of Aphex Twin – will be presenting his hugely acclaimed audio/visual show, while Moderat (pictured) will deliver a live set of hard-hitting but emotive techno, house and dubstep, augemented by video from longtime collaborator Pfadfinderai. Mike Patton’s imperishable rock behemoths Faith No More are also on board.

Those of a raving disposition will be drawn to sets from Simian Mobile Disco, Kompakt’s Brazilian lieutenant Gui Boratto, bumping house maestro Jesse Rose and bloggers’ favourite Brodinski, not to mention BPitch Control’s Paul Kalkbrenner, Super Discount man Etienne De Crecy, techno stalwart Dave Clarke and Detroit legend Carl Craig, who’ll be joined for a special performance by Underground Resistance mainman ‘Mad’ Mike Banks.

Bass-heads can look forward  to crack-house manoevures from DJ Zinc, dubstep from Benga and Skream, and globe-trotting street sounds of all kinds from The Count & Sinden. There’s also high-octane kuduro from Buraka Som Sistema and drum ‘n bass from DJ Marky, DJ Hype and more to look forward to.

Other live must-checks include Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy), Jimmy Edgar, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Fucked Up, De La Soul and tropicalia icons Os Mutantes. Alec Empire’s resurgent Atari Teenage Riot will be making an appearance, as will electro slickers Chromeo, idiosyncratic beatsmith Daedelus, disco-poppers New Young Pony Club. Plust alt-country heroes Giant Sand, garage-rock originals The Sonics and West Coast janglers Dum Dum Girls.

The full roll-call is below; you can find more information and tickets here. In close proximity to France, Dour is also easily accessible from the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and England, and boasts incredible camping facilities and a refreshingly relaxed atmosphere. We’ve already given away travel and festival passes to one lucky FACT reader and guest; later this week there’ll be a chance to win another couple of festival passes, so keep your eyes peeled.
