We haven’t really checked in at Adult Swim’s 8 Singles in 8 Weeks project since it dropped Madvillain’s ‘Papermill’ (well, we have been bumping the Flying Lotus and Killer Mike track but we never flagged it up on FACT).
Recent additions to the series, which will give away eight singles from relatively high-profile artists in eight weeks include ‘You and I’, a gently bumpy collaboration between recent New Talent pick Washed Out and Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek, back-room punk from Black Lips in the form of ‘Before you Judge Me’, and ‘Speak in Tongues’ by metallers High on Fire.
We’d also recommend singles #2 and #3, the aforementioned contributions by Madvillain and Flying Lotus and Mike Bigga, better known as long time Outkast affiliate Killer Mike.
Single #7 is actually due to drop today, while the series will end next week on July 6. You can download all the previous singles here.
