Giant Drag, The Frumpies, Ladyfingers.

I just trollied around California myself and my host didn't really play anything other than Best Coast, so they do seem to have their fingers on some distant pulse. They are good and 2 1/2 stars is unfair but there's something wrong with people who view this as beach music.

Every band that sounds like this will at some point use kittens in their artwork.

you're looking for depth in the wrong place. Depth isn't on the beach, it's way out to sea, far from the coast. What are the other bands that sound like this but better? No one else will be like Spector – guy had issues and resources and was unique for it. This is all there is, and you either love it a lot for what it is, or not.
