Modeselektor are on a bit of a mission right now.

Not only have the German dance duo – who also make up two thirds of Moderat with Apparat – announced a series of worldwide parties for this Winter, with more to come, they’ve just sent us details of their forthcoming Modeselektion 12” series and accompanying album. Wait until you see the cast of musicians that feature.

Released on their own Monkeytown label, with distribution from Rough Trade, Modeselektion Vol 1. #1 is a three-track 12” with new tracks from Ramadanman (‘Pitter’), Bok Bok (‘Say Stupid Things’) and Modeselektor themselves (‘VW Jetta’). That comes out on September 24, and will be followed by Modeselektion Vol. 1 #2, a second three-track 12” with cuts from Shed (‘With Bag and Baggage’), 2562 (‘The Wind Up’) and Sbtrkt (‘The Unspoken’). Sounds pretty good, right? You just wait.

After that, Monkeytown will release an eight-track vinyl compilation, limited to 666 copies on clear double-12” with 8 tracks from Ikonika, Cylob, Mala, Feadz and more. That will be followed by a CD compilation with 18 tracks spanning more than 79 minutes (we’re guessing this may be mixed – but we’re not sure yet). And then, finally, there will be a third 12” with tracks from Marcel Dettmann, Robag Wruhme and Cosmin TRG.

And we thought the Commix remix project had a stellar cast of names. More information on the rest as we get it.
