London’s Honest Jon’s label is set to release new music this year from Shackleton, T++, King Midas Sound, Vladislav Delay and Mordant Music.

Details are very, very sketchy at present. The record we know the most about is the selt-titled EP from the Vladislav Delay Quartet, for which we have the tracklist (see below). We’re not sure what the personnel of the Quartet is, but it’s not unlikely that one or two members of the Moritz Von Oswald Trio (of which Vlad, real name Sasu Ripatti, is part) are involved.

Arguably the most enticing record in the HJ’s schedule is Fireworks, a record of unknown length credited to Shackleton, T++ and Mordant Music. Whether this will be some kind of collaboration between the three artists or a split effort remains to be seen. It was rumoured that Torsten Profrock’s superlative 2010 album Wireless (also for Honest Jon’s) would be his last under the name T++, but that’s clearly, and thankfully, not the case. The Berlin-based producer and Shackleton have long been mutual admirers, while Shackleton’s earliest releases were on Mordant Music’s label of the same name, so we wouldn’t rule out a formal collaboration between the three. But a split/remixes remains the more likely scenario.

Shackleton is also set to appear on a second record for Honest Jon’s, Deadman, this time billed alongside Kevin ‘The Bug’ Martin’s King Midas Sound. Again, we’re not sure if this record – presumably a single/EP – is a direct collaboration, a split release, or remixes. Whatever it is, we’re damned excited.

More info on all three releases when we have it.
