Who remembers when Black Devil Disco Club was nowt more than a semi-mythological vinyl obscurity known only to the beardiest car-boot diggers?

These days it’s a fully-fledged, living and breathing band project, with the French library musician who helmed the original album, Bernard Fevre, at its helm, and with another LP (2008’s 28 Later) and countless live appearances under its belt (excuse the mixed metaphors, it is Friday). BDDC is set to return on April 12 with another full-length, entitled Circus, and Fevre has roped in a number of notable guest artists to contribute.

The most recognisable are Nancy Sinatra (pictured above in her big-haired heyday), electro trailblazer Afrika Bambaataa, The Horrors’ restless frontman Faris Badwan, YACHT‘s Claire Evans and Jon Spencer (as in Blues Explosion), but there’s room too for Aja Emma of Captured Tracks-signed neo-electroclashers Cosmetics, perennial UK pop underachiever CocknBullKid, Nancy Fortune, Jo Apps, and Poni Hoax‘s Nicolas Kerr. The latter lends his vocals to lead track ‘My Screen’, which you can preview below.
