Upset The Rhythm’s South London specials are always incredibly good fun, so we’re pleased to announce the inaugural Spaghetti Tree, a two-day festival being held in celebration of April Fools’ Day.

The name Spaghetti Tree is a homage to the BBC’s hoax 1957 Panorama broadcast which had a good portion of the great British public believing they could harvest their own crop of the stringy stuff.

Taking place across two days at The Bussey Building, Peckham Rye’s old cricket bat factory, the line-up UTR have pulled together for Spaghetti Tree is suitably eccentric. On Friday 1 April Dan Deacon – at his best, the Harry Hill of crazily ambitious noise-pop – headlines, joined by John Maus, the synth-punk torch-singer whose inscrutable unwillingness to present himself either as a joke or as completely serious means he continues to enthrall, and occasionally amaze. Design A Wave, PLUG and Munch Munch complete the bill.

On Saturday 2 April No Age take the reins, assisted by Japanther, Ducktails, Please, Peepholes, Hygiene, Woolf, Smack Wizards and Eternal Fags performing across several rooms.
