Shackleton is to collaborate with Vengeance Tenfold on three new tracks created as a response to two Devon train journeys.

The Lancashire-hailing, Berlin-based producer and his longtime friend and vocal foil (probably best known for his dread contribution to the Skull Disco cut ‘Death Is Not Final), have been commissioned to produce the tracks by Sonic Journeys – a sounduk initiative dedicated to “aural landscapes that connect the creator, listener and music with the world around us.”

“Sonic Journeys commissions artists to create new works in response to specific stretches of landscape that inspire them on various journeys taken by foot, train and other modes of transport in rural and urban locations. These works will then be recorded and available for download for listeners to experience the music as they pass through the same landscape that has inspired it. A free map will be available for download that gives the exact route for the listener to experience each Sonic Journey using their own personal mp3 player and headphones.”

Shackleton and Vengeance’s “sonic journey” will begin on April 8 and conclude on August 31, and will take them through South Devon on the First Great Western mainline (starting at Dawlish Warren Railway Station), and North Devon on the Tarka line (starting at Portsmouth Arms Railway Station).
