It’s 2011, and Twitter is pretty much our key source of news.

Well, not really – it’s actually our key source of amusement, but occasionally you get some news as well. Here are some recent highlights:

Flying Lotus and Erykah Badu [above] are working on a “project” together. Lotus has already collaborated with Badu, co-directing her recent video ‘Gone Babe, Don’t Be Long’, and yesterday revealed on Twitter that Badu will DJ at this month’s Stones Throw/Brainfeeder Coachella party, and that he was currently working for her to pop over and kick off day one of a larger project.

No word on the specifics of said project yet, but Pitchfork claim that Lotus announced that he’s been producing material for her at a recent California live show.

Kode9 has let out news that Cooly G and Scratcha DVA are in the process of writing albums for his Hyperdub label. They’ll presumably follow the Kode9 and Spaceape, Morgan Zarate and King Midas Sound (the latter a remix album) long-players penciled in for release this year.

Tri Angle will be releasing an album by promising duo Water Borders later this year (read FACT’s review of last year’s Akko here), as well as an EP by Clams Casino, a US producer who’s worked with Lil B, Soulja Boy and more.
