Night Slugs co-founder L-Vis 1990 has announced details of his debut album, Neon Dreams.
An full-length expansion of last year’s ‘Forever You’ single with Javeon ‘Shadz’ McCarthy, it’s a vocal-heavy dance album that looks to Daft Punk. Basement Jaxx and the Chemical Brothers before it does L-Vis’s contemporaries in modern dance music. In L-Vis’s words, “their albums transcended time and any musical fads, but most of all they took you on a journey. Creating Neon Dreams for me was about recapturing these elements that made me fall in love with dance music all those years ago.”
Each sound on Neon Dreams was created through hardware gear, with L-Vis relying mostly on an Roland TR-707 drum machine to accompany a wide arrary of classic synthesizers. The album features several guest vocalists, and will be released through PMR Records / Island on September 26.
