Back in January, Krystal Klear contributed a short mix to FACT’s Producers to Watch in 2011 feature. We’ve now invited him back for a Summer session.

A resident at Manchester club night Hoya:Hoya, Krystal Klear has been pushing a glitter-coated but heavyweight brand of boogie house for a while now, with tracks that look to the analogue grooves of the 1980s for inspiration but also punch with all the force of a Hudson Mohawke or Rustie production. A lot of people talk about blending the old with the new, but few do it with as much swagger as Krystal Klear.

Krystal Klear’s also a fantastic DJ: we were blown away by his selection and energy when supporting Marcellus Pittmann (who missed his flight) at a Doldrums night late last year, and any mixes with his name attached are must-hear business. His Summer session for FACT is no different, with Van Halen, Moroder and Daft Punk jockeying for space with Tensnake, Tiger and Woods and Leatherette.
