Walton debuts on Hyperdub; King Midas Sound remix album on way

Hyperdub has announced the release of the debut EP by Walton.

Sam Walton, based in Manchester, is just 20 years old. His Walton EP contains four dynamic funky house productions – ‘Aggy’, ‘Mangled Riddim’, ’808 Vybzin’ and ‘Skrilla’ – that are sufficiently rangy and experimental to have prompted Hyperdub to draw comparisons with grime, Midwest 90s house and UK bleep techno. The EP is out on September 5; its tracklist can be found below. You can listen to some of Walton’s productions on his Soundcloud page here, though none of the Hyperdub tracks are currently up there.

In other Hyperdub news, the label is currently prepping the release of Without You, a collection of “re-voiced and re-worked” tracks from King Midas Sound‘s Waiting For You album.  No news yet on the full list of contributors, but we can say for sure that Kuedo (aka Jamie Vex’d) and Mala are among them, as their remixes of ‘Goodbye Girl’ and ‘Earth A Kill Ya’ respectively are getting a 12″ release on September 19. More info when we have it.
