Damon Albarn and friends unveil DRC Music on Warp; listen inside

Full details have emerged of the album recently recorded by Damon Albarn and friends in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It’s credited to DRC Music (a name echoing Albarn’s Mali Music project) and entitled Kinshasha One Two, and will be released by Warp Records digitally on October 3, with a physical release following on November 7. The album was recorded with local musicians in Kinshasha over five days, and proceeds from sales of the album will go to Oxfam’s relief efforts in the DRC.

The core personnel involved in the recording are Albarn, XL boss Richard Russell, Actress, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Kwes, Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Alwest, Remi Kabaka, Rodaidh McDonald and Marc Antoine.
