Cooly G readies debut album

Cooly G will release her debut album on Hyperdub in early 2012.

It’s three years since the London-based house producer debuted with her Dub Organiser CD-R, reaching a wider audience with her magnificent Narst’/'Love Dub’ 12″ in 2009. Since then releases have been few and far between – the ‘Up In My Head’/'Phat Si’ 12″, again on Hyperdub, and a split with Scratcha on his DVA Music label, plus a smattering of remixes. It seems she’s been hard at work on her LP, which is entitled Playing Me.

No more information about the album at present, but we do know Cooly will release a new 12″ on Hyperdub on November 7. On the A-side is ‘Landscapes’, which features her vocals more prominently than ever before, with additional production from French dynamo Simbad. On the B, she hooks up with Baltimore house legend (and recent FACT mixer) Karizma for the darker, dubbier ‘It’s Serious’.
