Kentucky producer Milyoo will release his debut album, Archeology, this December.

Milyoo has been featured on FACT’s pages a fair bit in the last couple of years, pushing a genuinely undefinable sound somewhere between post-Dilla bump, the blissed out sample chambers of early Toro Y Moi and house music’s most psychedelic forms.

Archeology, due for digital and CD release through Subeena’s Opit label, promises “an otherworldly blend of soundscapes … although the album has retained the often alien-sounding textures and combinations of samples that made his previous EPs stand out, there is a real sense of development here. While the atmospheres, rhythms, and harmonies, extraordinarily strange and powerful, have grown more complex and mature, it is often noticeably accessible– easier to get inside the groove.

Opit will release Archeology on December 5.
