This November, Planet Mu will release the follow-up to Bangs & Works, their 2010 juke and footwork compilation.

A true regional phenomenon, footwork has been a part of Chicago’s dance culture for years, but its international profile was significantly raised last year when veteran electronic label Planet Mu signed records by juke and footwork artists like DJ Nate, DJ Roc and DJ Rashad, and compiled music from artists across the scene for their first Bangs & Works compilation. Since then, the music has become a notable influence on countless dance musicians worldwide.

Bangs & Works Vol. 2 features several of footwork’s biggest names in Traxman, DJ Clent, DJ Earl, RP Boo and DJ Spinn, but there’s also room for lesser-known producers like Jlin and the excellent Young Smoke. Mu will release Bangs & Works on November 7 on CD, digital download and triple-vinyl.
