New Order to headline Bestival’s Saturday night

New Order have been announced as one of the headliners for Bestival 2012.

The iconic Manchester band, who reformed last August – without Peter Hook, but with Gillian Gilbert – will perform on the festival’s main stage on Saturday night.

Quoth Bestival ringmaster Rob Da Bank: “So I’ve got Blue Monday blaring out of the Bestival HQ office speakers as we unveil our iconic Saturday night headliner New Order. It doesn’t get better than that… but it does! True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, Fine Time, Regret – so many amazing records i grew up listening to and still listen to now and they still sound immense, pioneering, legendary. See you down the front!”

Also added: Friendly Fires, Krystal Klear, Death In Vegas, Pearson Sound, Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, Max Cooper, Gemini, Pariah, Billy Daniel Bunter, Trolley Snatcha, Django Django, Drums Of Death, Zulu Winter, Pangaea, Blawan, KOAN Sound, Warm & Electric Minds, and a Brainfeeder showcase featuring Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer, Teebs, Lapalux, Jeremiah Jae and DJ Kutmah.

This year there’ll be a new performance stage, the Amphitheatre, debuting in the Ambient Forest area of the Bestival site, playing host to Scrrobius Pip’s Lizard Lounge and more.
