This has been rumoured for a while, but it now seems nailed on that the remix of Rihanna’s ‘Birthday Cake’ will feature Chris Brown.

Brown of course, as well as generally being snarling and annoying on most songs that he appears on, was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service in 2009 for brutally beating up Rihanna – his then girlfriend – shocking not just the music world, but the world at large. Whether Rihanna and him have swept this under the carpet in private’s another issue, but to dismiss what happened this publicly just seems like a massive step back for everybody.

The duet has been rumored for the best part of this week, especially after Brown was photographed leaving the same Hollywood studio that Rihanna was recording in, and ‘Birthday Cake”s producers Da Internz told MTV that the feature on this forthcoming remix would “shock the world.”

Now, according to eternally connected hip-hop blogger Miss Info, two independent sources have confirmed to her that Brown has “recorded both a singing verse, and a rap verse” for the remix – though there’s still a chance that someone changes their mind and neither makes the cut. Let’s hope that’s the case.
