One of UK dance music’s eternal outliers, Geiom has been making waves for a good few years now.

His productions on his own Berkane Sol imprint were at the vanguard of not-dubstep through its flirtations with Berlin dubtechno and bright, radioactive mutant funky, throwing up a few anthems along the way (‘Reminissin feat. Marita’ is a particular favourite). And, let’s not forget, he supplied us with a great FACT mix back in 2009.

He’s just updated his Soundcloud with clips of four new tracks, whose uncanny, glossy textures and precision-tooled percussion show there’s still a restless creative mind at work. ‘Lost Monarch’ is probably the standout, with discordant, oddly cartoonish pads over a densely syncopated grid. They’re all worth a look though – ‘Consequences’ is faster and slightly more deranged, while ‘Cashburnz’ and ‘Pharaonic’ are shiny, hyperactive grime as you’ve never quite heard it before.
