House and techno titan Paul Woolford has revealed details of a new project, Special Request.

The Leeds native emerged in the last decade as one of UK house’s most reliable big names, holding down a residency at We Love Spaze in Ibiza and releasing one of the all-time rowdy dancefloor anthems in ‘Erotic Discourse’ before blending effortlessly back into the fast-moving UK underground, releasing on labels like Hotflush, Local Action and Phonica, as well as Carl Craig’s Planet E.

In an email received from Woolford this week, he described Special Request as “quite rough & ready. As far as inspiration the starting point is pirate radio but the project goes into all sorts of places, there’s some full-on tear-out jungle in the bag as well as more along these lines and some really tranq’ed out ambient things, as the project unfurls I won’t be settling into any formula.”

The first two Special Request singles will be released as a double 12″ package; the second 12″ features a remix by Kassem Mosse and Mix Mup, who recently announced a mini-album on Trilogy Tapes. You can stream audio below.
