TNGHT is a new, vowel-less project by Hudson Mohawke and Lunice.

The artists might be from different nationalities – Hud Mo is Scottish, while Lunice [above] is Canadian – but there’s a lot to bind them: both have released on Scotland’s LuckyMe label, both make electronic music that’s at times hard-to-define but owes more to hip-hop than anything else, and both usually play live rather than DJ (though in the case of Lunice’s few-more-energetic sets, he’s more live than most).

Yesterday on Twitter, LuckyMe announced that SXSW will see the live debut of TNGHT at a free Warp & Friends showcase on March 17, also featuring Starkey, Daedelus and more. Even more intriguing however, is the release of a collaborative EP or album between the two, scheduled in for release this Summer on Warp x LuckyMe. More on that as we have it; in the meantime, you can watch some live footage of Lunice below (it doesn’t get old) and check his FACT mix here.

Update: Dummy point out that there’s a rip of a TNGHT track on YouTube, from Rustie’s recent Boiler Room set. We’ve embedded that below too, along with another Lunice & Hud Mo collab pointed out in the comments section.
