The next instalment of the vintage DJ-Kicks series will arrive courtesy of drum’n’bass guru Photek.

Photek’s mix arrives sandwiched between Gold Panda‘s contribution and the upcoming Maya Jane Coles set. Unlike those young pups, Photek’s been around the block: he was one of the pre-eminent names in jungle in the late 1990s, has tinkered with house music throughout the last decade, and released some of the most enduring d’n’b of recent times. Courtesy of Mixmag, the set is now available to stream in full.

The tempo is down a notch from Photek’s earlier days – Photek describes the mix as “introspective” fare – but there’s no shortage of forward thinking music on display. Sepalcure, Boddika and Pinch all crop up in the track listing, and there are some more august cuts from folks like DLX, Baby Ford et al. There are also four exclusive Photek joints to enjoy.
