Santigold’s sophomore album, Master Of My Make Believe, is lurking on the horizon.

The first single from the album, ’Disparate Youth’, is slated for release on April 9, with accompanying remixes from Switch, Amateur Bears and Hot Chip affiliates The 2 Bears.

The latter – whose reworking you can stream below – tease out the track’s latent breakbeat potential, refashioning it into a rugged bump which wouldn’t have sounded alien to London’s dancefloors circa 2004. The whole thing is just slightly reminiscent of Skream’s world-conquering La Roux remix from a couple of years back – but where Skream plumped for main-room euphoric overload, The 2 Bears’ remix is smooth-edged, refined and relatively subtle. Master Of My Make Believe is out on April 23.
