When he’s not innovating projectors/doorstops/dreidels, Rhode Island’s Nicolas Jaar occasionally turns out the odd remix or two.

Jaar’s remix of Shlohmo’s ‘Rained The Whole Time’ has been knocking around for a couple of months, but an official video has just emerged for the brittle cut – and it’s one of the most astonishing clips of the year so far. Video Marsh’s clip proceeds at a glacial pace: faces blur into skyscapes and indistinct swirls of colour. It’s not really clear if the images on display have come from a microscope or a telescope, but they’re utterly ravishing all the same. A hypnotic triumph, for sure.
