He might be MTV’s Hottest MC In The Game, but Rick Ross keeps blowing cool when it comes to actually releasing new music.

In recent months, Ross has been preoccupied by health difficulties, legal wrangles and some Cluedo-style intrigue at Ross towers. Unsurprisingly, his long-mooted God Forgives, I Don’t LP has been put back time after time. As Exclaim report, Ross has finally confirmed a release date for the new record. God Forgives, I Don’t will arrive on July 31, courtesy of Ross’ Mayback Music Group imprint. Ross sounds chuffed with the result: “The verses, the tracks, the production, the ad-libs — everything’s just in the right place.”

It’s not the only Ross-sanctioned release on the horizon. The Bawse is rallying the Maybach troops for the follow up to last year’s label compilation Self Made Vol. 1. The record – Self Made Vol. 2, naturally – will feature the likes of Wale, Meek Mill and Gunplay, with guest spots from the likes of Lil Wayne, Fabolous and T-Pain. It beats Ross’ LP by a month, arriving on June 26.
