Bobby Womack has been given the all clear from cancer.

The legendary soul singer, who’s set to release a new album on XL this June – titled The Bravest Man in the Universe, it’s produced by Blur’s Damon Albarn and XL’s Richard Russell – had been diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year, but has today posted on his Facebook page to announce that he’d “successfully undergone surgery for suspected colon cancer. A tumour was removed last night which turned out to be cancer free.” [via Pitchfork]
