Most commentators, depending on their personal persuasion, seem either to take Ricardo's genius as self-evident, or to take his boringness/self-indulgence as self-evident. Nice to read something that's willing to look at both sides of the coin. Personally I think Re:ECM was very impressive for the most part, but there's no doubting how dry it was at times - compared to, you know, listening to an actual ECM record. Good review – balanced.
