Clams Casino’s Instrumentals was, unambiguously, a game-changer: a set text for the current breed of woozy young emcees, and arguably the definitive avant-rap record of the decade.

The New Jersey producer’s debut mixtape, which featured instrumentals for the likes of Soulja Boy, Main Attrakonz and Lil B, wrestled Imogen Heap and Bjork into sublime new shapes. Having thoroughly beguiled us with Vol. 1, Clammy Clams has now issued the second instalment in the series.

Be warned: Instrumentals 2 definitely isn’t the shock to the system that its predecessor was. First off, we already know what to expect from Clams: triumphal, emotive, lo-fi wonders. More pertinently, the majority of the cuts here (Lil B’s ‘I’m God’, the Lana Del Rey mix, those LIVELOVEA$AP tracks) are already very, very familiar. Still, it’s still a gilded bundle, containing some of the most ingenious music of the last nine months. Click here to download.
