Manchester producer Damu has remixed ‘Tricks’, by Bella Union band Lanterns on the Lake.

The remix actually came out on Record Store Day, as part of a vinyl-only single that also featured a Laurel Halo remix, but it hasn’t been made available online until this week, via Mixmag. More organic, and far more human sounding than the majority of Damu’s 2011 album Unity, it’s also a pleasure to hear someone previously so reliant on vocal samples with a fresh vocal stem to twist and contextualize (see also: Damu’s recent collaboration with Py). Now, back to that Paleman record.
