Having clocked up around ten releases in 2011, the California superweirdo has already dropped six new mixtapes this year: White Flame, the enormous God’s Father, “#1Bitch”,“#The Basedprint 2”, Trapped In Basedworld and Water Is D.M.G Pt. 1. Lil B has now unveiled the latest in his Flame series, traditionally outlets for the rapper’s odder impulses and more experimental material.

As ever, there’s a wedge of material to consume. Green Flame goes heavy on the trap-hats and braggadocio – compared to the frequently certifiable predecessor White Flame, Green Flame is straight as a ruler’s edge. Initial stand-outs include the sloppy pomp of ‘Gon Hit That 50’ (“Bitch I look like Phil Collins”), the knock-kneed title track and the K-hole clatter of ‘Notty BasedGod’. The cover also tells the listener that “You have almost collected all the flames”, suggesting the series might be coming to a close.
