Having arrived early afternoon we got in to the site around 5pm, we were
thoroughly searched but not one of our tickets were scanned at that
point. A guy just took my paper ticket and relayed that I needed a day
ticket to the guy next to him holding the wrist bands. That is long
before crowd surges estimate of 9.30pm. We were on the far left hand
search queue so it may have been different further down. How can they
8000 people were in the site at 9.30pm as if that was based of scan data
there were at least 8006 as none of my friends or I were logged
electronically?

Well according to this statement, they are saying that the scanners didnt cease to operate, but they were advised to shut them down at 21.27 by someone. So crowdsurge are saying that the ticket scanners were workin, but they were told to turn them off. Obviously many people say they wernt working, and that security said they wernt working, and when I was in the queue I heard several times that there was a problem with the scanners, so looks like they are trying to shift the blame elsewhere.

My thoughts exactly, was awful MESSAGE TO ALL GO TO YOUR BANK OR CALL AND ASK THEM TO PUT YOU THROUGH TO THE RETAIL COMPLAINTS TEAM AND THEY WILL CLAIM YOUR MONEY BACK FOR NOT SUPPLYING SERVICES AS ADVERTISED.
I have begun this process and my bank have said there should not be to much trouble regardless of bloc Going into administration.

If you paid by credit card you should have no problem at all.

I have been to Bloc for the last four years so big shout out to all the mine headers out there! what a shame indeed I have never found more delightful people to loose my mind with.

what a dumb statement.

they say that “At no point
throughout the scanning process did the scanners cease to operate.” but in the same paragraph say they “shut down scanners at 21.27pm”

the security at the gate said the scanners had stopped working and hadn’t been working for a while. i was told this around 10:30. they had let in at least 1,000 people in the 60 minutes prior to that.

they say “There was no evidence of fraudulent ticketing operations.” But if the scanners werent working then they couldn’t have detected any fraudulent tickets if there had been any.

they say “each individual barcode only admits one person per ticket, at which
point that barcode is no longer ‘live’ and access cannot be gained to
the event.” again, this foolproof system doesnt work if the scanners arent being used.

crowdsurge say they are responsible for site entry scanners. but then say they are not responsible for the number of people on site. erm….

When I went through the gate, at roughly 5.30pm, the gentleman giving me a wristband (not the bloke scanning tickets) seemed clueless as to what he was doing. He was asking if I was coming for the weekend or day, and seemed completely unaware of asking me for proof of my ticket. If I had a day ticket, I could easily have told him i was here for the weekend.

I’m sure this has little to do with the main issue, but I thought i’d raise my point.
Steve Reich and Nicolas Jaar were good though!

They need to be careful what they say. I went through Gate 4 at around 4.30pm and the scanners there had already broken. The guy who took my e-ticket said to his colleague: ‘My scanner has broken so I’m typing the numbers in manually.’

“Fans were required to produce valid ID to prove that they were the legitimate purchasers of the tickets.”

I also heard nobody confirm this – nor did I see it for myself. The only time ID was required was at the bar. My friend didn’t have her ID with her, so she wasn’t allowed to purchase a drink.

At roughly 6.30pm my friends and I’s tickets were attempted to be scanned, the scanner looked off and did not make any sound, he barely pointed it at the ticket. We were just waved through to be searched. I call bullshit from Crowdsurge and, if given the choice, I will boycott using their service in the future and I urge any promoters to do the same.
