Ha, nope just a name coincidence! I don’t know why I’d talk down reviews if I’m the one writing a review, y’know? Like you, Eric, I’m tired of the whole “let’s talk about Frank’s sexuality first and then if we feel like it, we’ll get to the music”. Which was the point of my post. If the hyperbole got you, just give the album a listen and perhaps you’ll see that it’s one of the better albums of the year so far.

as good ol frankie says, “The best song wasn’t the single, but you weren’t either”. Reviews are for squares, just listen to the album and inform your own opinion. CO = A+ in my book, fresh yet nostalgic, almost like a blend of Badu and Wonder, and that shit is gold.

i’ve listened to every type of r +b dating back to sam cooke, and frank ocean is very different than anything before. nobody has ever been that lyrical, his writing is so much more intricate than anyone you mentioned. even without his incredible voice and excellent production his lyrics stand alone.
