Ben Folds Five is back with their first album since 1999’s Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.

Hyperbolically entitled The Sound of the Life of the Mind, the album was crowdfunded through PledgeMusic, which offered fans exclusives up to and including having their name on the album.

According to Spin, the album includes tracks titled “Erase Me,” “Michael Praytor, Five Years Later,” “Sky High,” “The Sound of the Life of the Mind,” “On Being Frank,” “Draw a Crowd,” “Do It Anyway,” “Hold That Thought,” “Away When You Were Here,” and “Thank You For Breaking My Heart.”

The Sound of the Life of the Mind will be released September 18 via ImaVeePee Records/Sony Music. Catch the band on their reunion tour, and download a free track from the album below.
