Brenmar gives a club music rinse to the Supreme Cuts’ most soulful tune.

While the Supreme Cuts made a subtle reference to King L (né Louie) with the title of ‘Val Venus,’ Brenmar’s remix is a more apt beat for the Chicago rapper. It’s only fitting, considering Brenmar’s Chicago roots.

Brenmar’s remix mirrors the swelling ebb and flow of the original. He starts with an amped up, hip hop edge, grinds to a halt, and brings the beat back with a hint of dembow. That’s 160 BPM down to 94 BPM for those playing at home. The song is part of a remixed version of the Supreme Cuts’ album entitled Whispers In The Dark: Reanimation.
