On October 1, Warner will release a mammoth 45th anniversary edition of The Velvet Underground & Nico.

The Velvets’ debut album, produced by Andy Warhol – who also created the iconic cover art and brought German chanteuse Nico into the equation – will be reissued in a 6xCD set. As well as the original album in both mono and stereo mixes, with  various alternate takes appended, the set offers a remastered version of Nico’s debut solo LP, Chelsea Girl; six previously unreleased tracks from a rehearsal that took place at Warhol’s Factory in January 1966; nine tracks from the Scepter Studios sessions, sourced from acetate cut on April 25, 1966;  and a 9-track live set from the Valley Ballroom, Columbus, Ohio.

Full details of the set are forthcoming; for now, cop the tracklisting below.
