Horrid Red, one of FACT’s favourite bands, will release their second album of 2012 on October 9.

Nightly Wreaths is the follow-up to the wonderful Celestial Joy, and will arrive courtesy of Terrible Records, the label of Grizzly Bear‘s Chris Taylor. It finds the wilfully mysterious American-German trio in strident form, combining elements of motorik punk and Cure-ish jangle with synthesizer lines provided by relatively recent recruit Clay Ruby (aka Burial Hex).

The band’s Edmund Xavier says: “I’m at a loss trying to write something about this record. I don’t know what it is. An exotic ambient pop album with post-punk/new wave/punk roots but that sounds goofy.”

The album will be released on vinyl and digital; the cover art is pictured above.
