After many years in the game promoting nights and looking after an impressive roster of DJs, Warm kicked the label branch of their operation into gear earlier this year.

Their inaugural release was from London/Cardiff-based duo Face + Heel: The No Stars EP, released back in May, married sighing synths to a crisp percussive chassis, with Sinead McMillan’s vocals swooping mournfully over the top.

You can hear two new tracks from the duo below. ‘Hold The Ghost’ is more forceful than their past work, with a subtly throbbing bassline pushing things along – although its methodical boom-clack is still drenched in characteristically shadowy synthetic reverbs.

‘Warm Blooded Days’, meanwhile, is a slow, graceful ballad not unlike the XX in their more meditative moments – indeed, it’s a similarly subtle pop sensibility that sets this duo apart from the crowd.

Warm have two more releases coming from Face + Heel before the year is out, so keep an eye out for those.
