Miami rapper Spaceghostpurrp releases his instrumentals on limited vinyl

Following the release of debut album Mysterious Phonk: The Chronicles of Spaceghostpurrp, the Miami rapper will have his instrumentals collected on a limited double-vinyl set.

Released on hand-stamped white label through 4AD and limited to 500 copies, hearing Spaceghostpurrp’s tracks in this form should appeal to hip-hop nerds everywhere: one of America’s most hyped new rappers, SGP is obsessed with the dirtier side of mid-’90s hip-hop – from the West Coast sleaze of Eazy E to the Southern funk of Three 6 Mafia and DJ Screw – even going as far to introduce a loose concept of him being beamed in from that decade. It comes through in his production even more so than in his rapping.

The instrumental version of Mysterious Phonk is available to order now, through 4AD. You can stream a chopped and screwed version of ‘Mystikal Maze’ below, and read FACT’s in-depth interview with 4AD label boss Simon Halliday here.
