DIY experimentalists The Pheromoans will release a new album, Does This Guy Stack Up?, through Upset The Rhythm on September 3.

Specialising in deadpan reportage from the frontline of bored suburban life, the band have been incredibly prolific since forming in 2009, with a slew of 7″, LP, tape and CD-R releases on such labels as Clan Destine, Convulsive, OneC and frontman Russell Walker’s own superb Savoury Days.

According to UTR, Does This Guy Stack Up? – which will be available on LP, CD and digital – is something of a departure from their sound of old, with the recruitment of keyboard/violin player Dan Bolger has edged them ever closer to the pop realm. Check out the video for ‘Grab A Chair’ below and see if you agree:

The band will play a launch party for the album at London’s Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club on August 31, with support from Ela Orleans, Liberez and Adam Bohman & Adrian Northover; Acolytes and Luke Younger (aka Helm) will DJ. More information and tickets here.
