Ryan Hunn specialises in densely psychedelic hip hop and bass music, drawing comparisons with a raft of contemporary operators but bringing his own distinctive chops to the table.

The Hoya:Hoya co-founder has been relatively quiet so far this year – certainly on the releases front. But having made a good impression in all the right places (recent credentials include a contribution to Radiohead’s TKOL Remixed project), there’s no doubt that his future activities are hotly anticipated.

A new track from the producer has emerged today, which you can listen to below. ‘H808er’ is pummelling 808 techno, centred around a dense, writhing synthetic bassline – an oppressive listen, until the air clears for an unexpectedly friendly breakdown.

The single is due for release through Young Turks digitally on September 3, with a limited edition 12″ following on September 10 –  you can pre-order the latter here.
