The Berlin by way of Detroit producer does his dual hometowns proud on this free remix.

As he did on his remix of Eli & Fur’s ‘Tonight,’ Jimmy Edgar infuses ‘Machine Gun’ with a decidedly Teutonic flare.

The first single off 2008’s Third LP, Portishead’s original is ripe for a remix like this, with its industrial march beat and airy, feminine vocals. For his part, Edgar uses the pneumatic pulse as one element in a sped-up assembly line of percussion.
